At Stadia Sports Medicine, an injury screening is performed by a licensed healthcare professional. Our healthcare professional, typically Gabrielle Shnurman, LAT, ATC, will discuss, assess and provide a plan to recovery with options.
Our injury screening is approximately 15-20 minutes in duration. During the injury screening your healthcare professional will discuss your musculoskeletal complaints (your pain/injury) and how this impacts your daily life. While discussing your injury, a hands-on assessment will be conducted to see how your injury impairs your movement. Depending on your complaint, assessments may include ROM (range of motion), strength and flexibility, etc. A partnership is formed as you and our licensed professional discuss a plan for the road to recovery. Usually, a tailored home exercise program is designed personally for your injury. If you decide you want to pursue a more aggressive plan of care, those options will be discussed as well.
