Mike Hadden became a part of Stadia Sports Medicine since February, 2022. Mike serves as Dr. Carlson's medical assistant, where he plays a crucial role in facilitating patient care coordination. In addition to this responsibility, he meticulously evaluates and fine-tunes home exercise regimens tailored to individuals capable of engaging in home-based therapy. Furthermore, he actively participates in conducting metabolic performance testing to aid in comprehensive patient assessment and treatment planning. As a dedicated medical assistant, he ensures seamless communication between patients and the healthcare team while diligently assisting in various aspects of clinical practice.
Mike is NATABOC certified and a state licensed Athletic Trainer. He is also nationally certified as a strength and conditioning specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the International Weightlifting Association. Mike earned an undergraduate degree from Buena Vista University and his masters degree from the University of Kansas in biomechanics. In 2008, Mike was recognized as the The Iowa Athletic Trainers’ Society (IATS) Educator of the Year. Since Hadden's arrival at Simpson in 1997, the Athletic Training Program has grown exponentially, wtih enrollment growing over 300% and doubling the staff size. He has taught almost every course in the Athletic Training curriculum, although now focuses primarily with Administration, Rehabilitation, and General Medical courses. He has also taught courses in Simpson’s cornerstone general education program. In 2007, he was awarded Simpson’s Outstanding Junior Faculty Award.
